FWIW I reevaluate practice minutes and make small changes every 2-3 games depending on the player.
That's the ideal way to do, IMO. It's labor intensive but you can probably gain 10-15 points more points some seasons by funneling minutes off the reds and oranges when they switch over and onto the greens and blues.
Agreed - except, newbies should watch out for the lure of high potentials in areas that dont matter much
lets say you have a center. his ballhandling is 9 and green. That means he can grow a lot in ballhandling. But since he is at 9, he may improve slowly for a while. And how much does ballhandling matter to his performance.
Lets say the same center is also black in rebounding and at 55. BUT, lets also say that he was blue at the start of the season at 53 in rebounding. That means he can get the REB up to 73 ish.
Now, if you look and say - ah, I must move minutes from the black skill - REB - to the green skill - BH - that would be a mistake. REB is more important for a big man AND because he was recently blue you can see that he has big room to improve
Dont ONLY follow the lure of those green and blue potentials, think deeper thoughts.
