What's the consensus? I always did Never, especially against SIMS. Recently, I started setting it to Always, and I came back in a few games last season. I've noticed many of the high D1 coaches seem to change at halftime regardless of score. Any thoughts?

I have tinkered with it over the years. Sometimes I will change it for a certain game (particularly in the postseason) otherwise it is usually consistently set at "if losing by 5 or more" for me.

My feeling on this is that my teams are usually pretty good so if I am down by 5 or more at halftime than I must have done something dumb with the gameplan. They probably need an adjustment.

I used to set it at always but then I started noticing that I sometimes didn't like what the engine was adjusting it to.

That was my initial thought as well. "If losing by more than 5" seems to account for a gameplan mistake I made yet not give the engine the power to change something that might be working.

I love it when I see coaches have that setting not set to Never.

I have been burned by allowing a change at halftime when leading. I have yet to be burned by allowing a change when losing by 5 or more. And when you think about it, that is logical.

I recently took a team that had no reason to be in the title game there, for one by exploiting coaches in this manner. Should have won the title too, just got screwed by late game RNG cuz I was up by too much.
