ATH/SPD in Bigs Topic

I have really athletic and really slow bigs. In any given match-up, I have a nice advantage in ATH and a large disadvantage in SPD. This SPD disadvantage doesn't negate my ATH advantage, right?

I would so no, as a general answer.

But I also think how the team plays and what system the team runs is a large determining factor in what is and is not an advantage or a disadvantage. Straight up, just your guy and whoever he is matched against, I think Ath wins out in most scenarios.

A long time ago, I had a conversation with billyg about how important speed was in bigs. I think we valued 1 point in ath was worth 7-12 points in speed.

speed in bigs only really helps in fg% and suppressing fg%. It may help with causing turnovers.

I agree with kashmir and Trentonjoe. I always look at speed in my C as an added bonus, whereas elite Ath is a must. For my PF, I put a little more value on speed and usually look for a min of 40, but if his Ath is elite and his cores are maxing over 90 then I take whatever speed he has.

I have always valued Speed in bigs since I usually run press d. I would agree ATH is more important but i'll gladly give up other skills to get some extra speed. Below would be an optimal big I would look to recruit.
