I think they should just get rid of the 1 and 1. Just go to 2 FTs at 10 fouls. I think it slows down the game too much.

Thoughts?

Yes. Or I would go to one and one at 8 fouls and 2 free throws at 11. I feel the no 1-and-1 might slow down the game more because teams would just hack.

I don't watch nearly as much basketball as I used to, partly because it is so slow. Here's an outside the box idea. 2 for 1. In a two shot situation, if you make the first free throw, it's worth 2, no second foul shot needed. If you miss the first you still get the second. Would speed the game up a bit, especially last minute or two.

Well, I think the rules are nice as they are and NCAA bball is truly fun this season. Lots of parity.

I've thought a lot about if the NCAA should switch the halves to quarters. Then the teams would shoot 2 free throws at 5 fouls in that quarter. It's an interesting topic. I read somewhere that the switch would cost the television broadcasts time to fit in a couple TV timeouts so the change might not happen soon. It's all about the $.

One thing that is good about the 1 and 1 is that it does add some tense moments at the end of the game when a team is clinging to the lead. But especially in the first half, it sucks.
