Anyone try recruiting for a large class in the new system yet? Decided to apply for a D2 job, 10 openings. Wondering if it'll be impossible to get a decent class.

It might be possible. But it'll be difficult to do the first year because you only get the second recruiting session to fill your openings, unless the SIM signed guys in the first session. Look to recruit internationals. It's expensive, but you can find diamonds.

Should be interesting; I'll have to build around low level D1's who fell through the cracks. I'll get 6 guys, but getting jucos at this point will probably be impossible I would think.

What you will have access to is the people transferring/cut from other programs that a lot of people don't save scouting money to check out and are often just there for the grabbing. Also check the JUCO players who aren't signed but are listed as considering people. In some cases those considerations are holdovers from the previous season and you can see that no scholarship has been offered yet.

I just did 8 openings at D2. I was able to fill 7 spots with 5 Fr and 2 Jucos with one of the FR being an inel. It was meh overall.

The team has a decent enough prestige, but it is definitely a total rebuild which I like. My record isn't very indicative of my HD time. I love rebuilding teams, but it's a headache at first.

beachouse, I just did 6 openings on a D3 team and did quite well. I ended up dropping an additional player and signed a 7th quality recruit. I was so happy with how I did that I don't think I would sign onto a new team without the opportunity to sign a large class right away.

So unfortunately the team had already signed 3 crappy guys. I am going to cut the 2 holdover players once I get that chance.

Definitely realizing that although signings can occur, you almost have to settle for garbage if you join between seasons.

Or pick up a team that has only 1 or 2 openings that first transition year when you have to deal what Simmy recruited for you in the first session and then that team has 5 or 6 openings the next full season when you are in total control. I did that with one team and it worked out very well.

I like starting things fresh. I don't honestly mind if the team ***** the bed the first year. It's just my first time in the new system stepping in to a team.
