We just had several sign 24 hours before the deadline in Smith. I was under the impression that they would not sign until the final cycle. Did I misunderstand?

Grindstaff(could be a porn star if basketball doesn't work out) and Hudnall were D1. The last signing cycle if 11 PM tonight. They signed at 11 last night.

This is right. D1 kids will sign with d3 teams one day before the end of recruiting.

I could have sworn I've seen several veteran users state that D1 would only sign with D3 on the final cycle. I guess I misunderstood. This changes D3 recruiting substantially. Thanks.

I can confirm that D1 recruits will sign with D3 schools 24 hours before the end of RS2. Several schools in the Little East got D1 recruits. It wasn't just me.

They have come out and said it. D1 players will sign with d3 teams during the final 24 hours. That's the way it has "always" been. No change

I didn't even know this was possible until I looked at who the top teams recruited.

If you are a D3 school, D2 recruits will sign the first cycle of the second session and D1 will begin to sign the last 24 hours. not an #alternativefact

From the Guide to the new HD 3.0 release:


"In cases where a team is chasing a recruit from a higher division, interest level is limited to Moderate until the start of the second recruiting period in cases where it's a one-division difference, or until the final 24 hours of recruiting if it's a D3 team and a D1 recruit. This means they will not sign until that point, because you have to have them at High or Very High interest to sign. On the final recruiting cycle, if a recruit has no valid offers from teams at High or Very High, he will accept an offer from a team at a lower interest level. So he would first look for a team at Moderate, then if there were none there, he would move on to Low, then to Very Low."

Maybe that paragraph should have been 2 paragraphs, the 2nd one Being the part that starts with "On the final cycle....."
