Yeah. There are actually very few (5 per world?) real d1 players in d3.

Honestly, there were that many in 2.0 as well. There was a greatest players ever in d3 thread a while ago that showed some absolute monsters.
I think the biggest difference is that instead of growing into monsters when they are JR and SR, they are starting out already great D3 players when they are FR/SO. Like this dude for example

As a SR, yeah, he's real good. But compared to your typical FR/SO in 2.0, I think he blows them away.
Or he's another good one. Having guys like this coming off your bench as a SO is pretty ridiculous.

I think that's a valid point The guys aren't necessarily better but better faster.

I am not sure it's a bad thing though. Having good sophomores isn't awful game design.

I think they need to get rid of this, not because of competition but because it's not really that coaches have more talent when they get these players, it's only because of location whether they battle d2 or they are surrounded by low d1. It makes it : find the best location... that's it

Location has always been important....that's why colorado (d3) and PBA have always been good.

Yeah but with d1 all available, it makes it more important and it drives people out of conferences filled with humans except for university or divisions where owners are far apart. I don't think it's good for the game and capping makes it a more fair level ground.

Prior to this, it was always capped and there were still places where recruiting was extremely challenging. Either due to heavy competition or basically being in a wasteland in the middle of no where. Or packed up against international borders. Or Hawaii. If anything 3.0 has opened those areas back up to coaches under less restrictive circumstances.

It's always been about adapting to circumstance. Just like anything else. When things change, you change and adapt.

You assume everyone is playing for the same reasons you're playing. You shouldn't do that.

Before potential was released I remember guys being drafted out of D2....

I don't. I am saying it makes for better competition. And you are right Mike, I am going D2 and **** D3.

Well, yeah, you did.

In Smith, Little East, we've decided to stay there. At least 11 of us have. That's bunched up in the Northeast.

"At any level, if I get a super player it is great. But if anyone else gets a super player it shows the game is F'd up and needs caps so I am the only one getting super players."

There, that sums up many, many, many forum threads. Saved a lot of guys a lot of time.
