Having returned to HD last season after a long layoff, I'm taking in all the changes that have transpired since my last gig. One thing that I can't understand is the projections. More specifically how this year I have a player that's rated 17 at speed but with very high (green) projection in that category. Two days into the season and the rating has changed from 17 very high to 17 high (blue). Am I to believe that the player teetered by less than one point on the edge of very high to high. I would write it off as just a random thing but I have another player who has already changed from very high to high in a category after 2 days while only changing one point. For the record I have high minutes for practice time on these categories. Last year I had 2 players do the exact same thing but over a slightly longer period of time. I realize there are a multitude of factors that go into this, but I don't see how it can happen over and over. You recruit a player partly based upon their projections and they change after increasing one point....or even zero, and that early into a season?? Has anyone else experienced this or have any thoughts about it?

It happens...the color means they're over the minimum threshold. It might be one-tenth of a point over, or ten points over -- you don't get to know. That they changed colors without increasing a rating point means you were right on the borderline. You will get exactly the minimum amount of growth under the green heading (28 points, I believe) out of that player if you max them out.

Going to green to blue while staying on the same number seems to happen more often than what is interpreted as normal. It can be frustrating at times. It mostly seems to happen with speed and athleticism. Not so much with perimeter and low post. If you recruit green for speed and athleticism just expect he won't gain more than 28 points, but if he does, consider it a bonus.

I had 6 or 7 players change colors without changing ratings on my first day as well. Seems to be happening often.
