This makes no sense, because with an A, you can still get a comp pick too. From a draft pick perspective, losing a Type A is always better.

You completly skipped over the point I was making.
If you have a type A that is a piece of garbage or even a decent player, you don't get a pick if no one signs them.
With a type B, other owners are more likely to sign fringe players because it doesn't cost them anything.
A type A that no one cared to sign. Hence no pick.

if either of these guys were a Type B, there is a much better chance someone would have signed them. A type A pick is no good if no one signs the player.
