How important is SB Topic

How important is SB in bigs, if someone has a big with let's say like 90 DE, but he has a like 20 SB, or let's say even 40, should you load distribution on your best scorer going against them? Or should you back off because of the DE?

Also, if you have a severe rebounding advantage, should you go uptempo because you will get more shots, even if your team has a small stamina disadvantage and they are playing with an extra player.

With the stamina/uptempo, i think it depends on how your minutes are distributed. This is just me, but i use substitution by fatigue, and I put all my players at "fairly fresh"; but i also play with a full court press defense. If you play zone it would be a different scenario.

SB is pretty important. It is of my philosophy that it is of more importance than the defense rating in bigs.

I have recently scaled back my use of uptempo. In my experience, the sim engine can do weird things with uptempo. That said, you would run fast if you want to increase possessions and draw more fouls. More possessions means more shots which, yes, would mean more rebounds. In the scenario you described, with less stamina and a shorter bench, I would probably go normal.

I also think SB is important. Maybe not more important than defense, but still important. If you play a zone, it's even more important. If your opponent is M2M, look for advantages in Athleticism and Speed to decide how to attack.I tend to not even look at SB when scouting a defense.

Not for turtl because he hates when I respond but, in the 3-2 zone defense, SB is big from your bigs. I don't know if you can completely ignore D/IQ but putting a couple of SB/REB guys at C/PF can work really well. And it will allow you to defend the 3 with you +/- settings.

I was just playing a team that did not have a single player with a good SB rating, and my two bigs did not shoot particularly well, I also went normal tempo and he went uptempo and we rebounded the same, as opposed to our earlier game where I went slowdown and he went normal tempo where I had a 24-35 rebounding advantage. All of that is most likely just in the normal variation between the two sims, but I can't help but wonder if there is a corrolation.
