Fullcourt Trapping Team Topic

I am considering doing something interesting with one of my teams. I want to have a team that constantly traps, creating turnovers and transition points. Would it be possible to run this if you set everyone on the opposing team to be double teamed the entire game? Is this even an option? Yes, I know I'd probably give up a bunch of open baskets. I'm more just curious to see if I can do something unique with a team. Offensively, I want to create transition points (run a fastbreak offense?), but also shoot a ton of 3s. In RW basketball terms, I would love to have a "at the 3, or in the key" offense (like a 4 out 1 in motion), but mostly . The ideal recruit would be ATH/SPD/DEF with high PER/STA.

You can kinda duplicate that. This is what I would do.

Play a FASTBREAK/3-2 ZONE.
Double team each teams best player as ALWAYS.
And then everyone else "if leading scorer"

You can't double more than two people at a time so I think this is the best you can do.

Set as many of your players at +2 for 3 pt frequency as you can, recruit SPD and PER first (speed helps with turnovers).

The double team feature does not work in the fullcourt press.

It says it right below the defensive double team option.

* Doubleteams are not available when playing a full-court pressing defense.

Thanks wizard. Noticed that after I tried to make my fullcourt team run a double team. Wish we had an option to run a trap style defense in the full court, or options of different styles of press (i.e 1-2-2, 2-2-1, diamond and 1)

Also from the Help on the "Defensive Doubleteams" section of the "Player Game Plan" page:

Defensive Doubleteams

From this section, you can utilize double-teaming if preferred. If you are running a full-court press, you will constantly be double-teaming the player with the basketball, and therefore have no control over double-team settings.

That would be very cool, but it would be a very big engine re-write. The way this game runs the fullcourt press is literally a constant trap all over the court. It does not make much sense once it gets into the halfcourt, but that's what it is.

If you are daring, you could practice FCP & zone. Then you could switch between playing a combo defense with double teams, FCP alone & zone. There have been a few successful coaches that have done that. I don't suggest practicing or playing more than 1 defense until you have a few seasons experience.
