I came to the conclusion some time ago that the posted point spreads for each game are basically crap, and only have a very loose relationship to reality.

But I'm still curious to see if anybody can explain why my D2 team in Rupp, Francis Marion, is only a 3 point favorite at home against a SIMAI team in New Haven in tonight's game.

I hope so. It's still a bit disconcerting to see, though. I look at my game plan for the game and can't help but wonder "am I missing something" when I see only a 3 point spread at home on what should be a fairly easy game.

Maybe it's that their RPI is 36 spot higher than yours? You'll pick up a quality win against a crap team. Congrats,
