Doesn't Care if He's Not Playing? Topic

Doing game planning against my next opponent, which is a SIM team. I come across a sophomore SG, Peter Duncan, who hasn't played at all through his team's first 9 games.

I take a look at his stat history, and I see that last season, as a freshman, he started all 27 games and averaged over 20 MPG. This season, zilch.

Yet, no hit at all to his work ethic (59).

Is that normal for players on SIM teams? Would he be getting a big WE hit if he were sitting on the bench for a human coached team?

Would it have anything to do with his preferences?

Nothing to do with preferences. I can't recall seeing a player on a sim team have a drop in WE from lack of playing time. If it's a human-recruited kid every player has a threshold for what makes them complain and some never complain at all. I've also noticed more complaints (and WE drops) tend to come after the noncon portion of the season has been completed.

I have started a freshman all season then as a sophomore he road the bench with a small amount of minutes. No loss of work ethic.

Usually they start complaining about PT when they become upperclassmen and not getting 10+ minutes. Even new Juniors who are not promised time seem to complain about this on my teams.

Sim teams are bad enough. If they got the advantage of not losing WE then I would be okay with that. Might help the next human coach who takes over the team have at least one or two solid players.

depends on the player

some SO would complain in that situation, not all

Probably because hes a sim. I have a soph guard right now that was never promised min and had about 8-9 his freshman year but only getting 7-8 this year complain and dropped 2 we points 1/2 through the conf games. So my guess would be because of it being a sim is the reason he hasn't dropped we.

freshman promises have no effect on soph minute expectations

It would be interesting if preferences effected their playing time expectations - so, for example, a player without the playing time preference expected less minutes inherently than those with ...
