job logic/change idea Topic

very simple idea--every day in the jobs process that a job goes unfilled it drops a partial grade in prestige.

though process: if a job can't attract a remarkable candidate, then they're overreaching--the job isn't as good as they think it is. for example, Syracuse is A+. very few coaches qualify and let's say none of them want it. why not have this job drop to A the next day to see if there are any qualified takers, then A- the final day, each day increasing the pool of coaches who qualify without making the process a total joke and making a prime job open to completely inexperienced coaches.

the goal here of course is to keep the best jobs with human coaches and avoid having good programs have to fall completely apart before anyone can qualify. this has been a longstanding problem in HD, well before HD3, that i think everyone would love to see addressed!

This makes way too much sense.

I agree. Great idea. I remember there were a bunch of jobs I would've taken, but couldn't qualify for when I was ready to jump to a big 6 from CUSA many seasons ago. With this format, I would've been checking the job board everyday, and might've gotten lucky with a B+ program slipping to B- on day 3. Instead, I took the C- total rebuild at WVU in 2.0.

Btw, complete rebuilds in a Big 6 conference in 2.0 were so much harder than a complete rebuild in 3.0.

I like the idea, but I think dropping the schools prestige is a little harsh. I would certainly be in favor of lowering a jobs minimum standards as the job period goes on, but think this can be done without actually lowering the programs prestige.
