in a league

may i conclude the sim thinks the 10/30 catcher should not be run against

It's a curious problem , is it better to have a Roseboro type catcher that throws out 50% of a few daring runners or is it better to throw out 30-35% of many more runners and recording many more outs than '64 Roseboro or another of similar capabilities.

I think it's a no-brainer! A catcher who throws out half of base stealing attempts will generally shutdown SB teams making it much more difficult for them to score runs bc most of the SB guys (not all) are singles hitters with little power. Whereas a team loaded with Raines, Vince Coleman, etc., may steal 6-8 bases against a 30 percent guy.

Strictly by the average numbers, A-rated arms are better than A+ arms, but you probably aren't getting either if preparation against an average team. As Mixtroy indicated, the only way you can limit the damage against the best base stealers, guys like Coleman and Raines, is to use an A++ arm like '64 Roseborro.
