There obviously is a mess with this game. A power school in jobs is generally a step up. That part actually works in this game. Recruiting seems to be the complete backwards of this. I'm at Arizona St. in Rupp and was during 2.0. During that time, I could get the top 25 players at any one position and I was slowly but surely gaining ground on the top players of my conference. Then, 3.0 promised we could get top recruits. While yes, they don't laugh at me any more for trying, there's still no chance you can land them. In fact, now I can't land any one in the top 25 of their position and now I lose to Div. 2 teams as well as to teams with lower prestige and I definitely lose every battle with guys who are a B- when I'm a C+. There are so many small schools with a higher prestige that you can't help but notice that there's no way you could ever hope to make a national tournament. On top of that, why would you leave a smaller school unless you get the top power conference jobs? On top of that, I tend to run out of money during recruiting so then it's just lucky crumb hopes at the end. I'm sure there are many Div. 2 teams that could beat my power conference team and that isn't right. The other aggravating part is I could do the same type of recruiting and suddenly I went from very high to moderate at the next change. Then, I do it again and it's low. There's no rhyme or reason to the recruiting. I've tried help from other players, but they seem to think I should do better than what I'm doing and really can't help at all. I really regret I paid for 5 seasons a while back when I thought I saw some change for the positive only for it to fall back into collapse again. How fun can this game be when your senior laden team is beaten by 43 pts. to the best team in the league that is having an off year?
