Recruiting in Hawaii Topic

can any of you guys give me some insight of recruiting in Hawaii at d 1. Is it cheaper to recruit international players etc?

1. Own the islands. Fight people off like it's your job. Do it enough and most people will stay away.
2. International isn't cheaper but you should have more money to spend on it than others and you are at least on equal footing with the other teams.
3. I would scout HI and INT first, scout the crap out of them and then branch out.
4. Eschew camps.

Yeah, keep your players, then find internationals, because with internationals everyone is at a long distance, and if you try recruiting on the mainland it is just you.

Beware, at a low prestige you can still lose players on the island.

I really enjoyed my 5 years at Smith D-2 Hawaii Pacific... the women were beautiful, the food fantastic, weather was like paradise. There was enough talent on the islands to build up the team, and i agree with the comments that people shared up above. For me, typically, i would be 90% local kids, but occasionally fish around in Recruiting Session 2 for a mainland project guy who fell through the cracks. Good luck, I'd recommend taking a team out there.

I have never coached Hawaii but you could take advantage of mainland players who desire far from home. No place farther from home than Hawaii. Just make sure other advantages match up like formation etc. You also have to be able to spend 20 home visits.

Overall I would probably stick with Internationals, I just thought I would bring up the players whose desire it is to play away from home.
