Does any one know what this is based off of? The % 3's attempted? I am at good right now and 20.9+ of my shots taken have been 3's.

My best guess is that this preference is based on the amount of points in the paint, which you can see game by game, but not by season. It's definitely not the inverse of perimeter, because you can get neutral in one and good/VG in another.
