What is the "Off %" number on the Player Game Plan page supposed to represent?

Doesn't seem to be Usage %, Poss %, or simply Player pts/Team pts.

Are you calculating those numbers for the game stats or just the stats when the player is on the floor?

% of shots taken

If thats it then my calculator is busted.

It's nothing obvious. It has to do with shots taken or shots made calculated by floor time. Perhaps it has something to do with who else is out there also but I just couldn't figure it out with the stats we're provided. So I gave up 3-4 seasons ago.

That one doesn't make sense either since it adds up to 100%. If it was only for when they were in the game then it would add up to way more than 100%.

For my sheet I use the kenpom calculation for usage% and shot%. Both numbers are way more than the off% number given by on the player stat page.

I would guess it included TO% and AST%.

Player FGA + (.5)FTA
divided by
Team FGA + (.5)FTA

I've only done this for a few players on one team, but it matches so far.
ETA, if you have an odd number of FTA, round down.

I've just assumed that it's the equivalent of offensive distribution, but based on actuals for your opponent . . . how often each particular player has attempted to score.

I use it as one of the primary factors as to whether or not to double team.

Yeah, that's what I meant :)
