Power Five teams no big deal anymore.... Topic

Having started my season at Creighton, road wins at Arkansas, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Oklahoma and home wins over Cal and Purdue and our SOS is the worst in the league and over 300. That sums up how this sim is totally broken and in fact will die in time if something is not fixed. And no way can we crack any poll.....and our winning margin is over 20 points.

That sums up your poor scheduling is what you mean. Almost all of them have been sims for 3-5 seasons and are terrible. Did you think just because they are in the big conferences they would magically play better than their ratings and all have their lone loss be to you?

Prob has a lot to do with the fact that all those teams have 7 walk ons.

Yeah, like Indiansrock and Benis wrote, your opponents are very weak. Nothing has changed from 2.0 as far as needing to avoid all 0-27 type teams, whether they're Big Six or not. Actually, once conference play starts, those teams' SOS will improve, which will improve your RPI, but just slightly.

Any Sims you schedule for the following season should hopefully have a lot of Juniors on their current roster, depending on your team's strength. Even then, if that Simbot is with 11 humans in conference, they will struggle.

in my opinion, SIM teams in BCS conferences have long been a bad move in scheduling. They generally do very badly in conference and also tend to lose in nonconf if those games are against human coaches. Just terrible for SOS and hence RPI

Now and then a SIM that was human until that season will have enough good players to be a good opponent.

I have never understood why lots of folks schedule BCS SIMs

RPI:
25% is your W-L record.
50% is your opponents' W-L records.
25% is your opponents' opponents' W-L records.

Results home and away have weightedness.
Home wins = 0.6 wins.
Home losses = 1.4 losses.
Road wins = 1.4 wins.
Road losses = 0.6 losses.

So non-conference if you schedule 5 teams who go 0-27, and 5 teams that go 3-24... that means non-conf W-L is 15-255 thru your first 10 games, and this is 50% of your RPI score (not including home-road weights). Yikes.

If you go 10-0, that means:
25% is 1.000 winning pct.
50% is .005 winning pct.
25% is whatever random sucky opponents your sucky Simbot opponents played.
So 75% of your RPI is composed of really bad material.
