I just got done with a very similar battle, and being the B prestige team against an A+ only got me 34% when I had 1750 AP invested (along with good intangibles, visits,etc). So I think the B gets hurt here.

Question:are school prestige grades letters that mask a number range, kind of like level 2-3 scouting? i.e. can one A rating be a little better or worse than another?

Not all grades are equal. Some A+ Prestige grades are much higher than others (same is true for all the preferences, except off/def). This one is on the very high end, if that changes anyone’s calculus.

Just so everyone knows, UCLA in Phelan is the A+ in question here so prestige might be a bit higher...
