Reserved Team Question Topic

I am rejoining Smith World and reserved my team (too slow on the uptake) before game one of last season. I have slowly been observing my future squad and have been in hopes that Sim would not recruit four dogs to fill the roster before I took over. Second day of part two recruiting, and Sim still has not signed ANYBODY. Does any of you have history with reserved teams, to tell me whether or not I should be concerned that Sim will do NO recruiting and stick me with four walk on's?

If I reserve a team when do I take over? Cycle 2 recruiting or later? Thought it would be cycle two.

You should HOPE you get 4 walkons. Better than getting stuck with crap recruits for 4 seasons.

Yep, I'm gonna cut one assigned to me on mully's favorite team, UNC-A. No resources will be gained when he's sent on his way.

If you're changing teams, RS2. If you're new to the world, next season. I think there's an odd definition of "new" in that if you left it x-number of seasons ago, you're not new.

I was able to start in Rupp at D2 but, as I'd been away for years, I didn't get to take the team before RS2.

It looks like you’re already in Smith. Did you reserve a D1 team instead of go through job change process, or is it a different world? Just making sure I understand your situation.

You won’t get stuck with anyone for longer than you want, you can cut any sim-signed players at the end of your first season, and you’ll get the resources to fill those scholarships in RS2. Not that it matters what you specifically hope for, but I’d personally rather play the first season with a full cast rather than a 3 man bench, but that’s just me. Hard to say whether they’ll fill the scholarships or not; if it’s low D1 they’ll almost certainly be actively recruiting guys. You may not love them, but they’ll probably fill the roster, or get close. If it’s a higher level team, they’re more likely to be getting beaten for higher level recruits, so you’ll probably deal with some open scholarships.

Remember, if you reserved a team, you won’t be recruiting at all before your first season. So there’s no risk of having guys sim signed looking like you signed them (those guys you will not get resources for when you cut, very irritating bug).
