Harder to redshirt good recruits? Topic

Until I got to Purdue, I very rarely had anyone reject a redshirt. Since taking over, 90% of my attempts to redshirt a freshman have resulted in massive WE drop. Is this just a run of bad luck or are better recruits less likely to take it?

I've not had anyone good enough but I think the answer is obvious. Good players don't expect to sit or redshirt.

1. Impossible to redshirt a guy that is promised minutes.
2. Impossible to redshirt a freshman who is in your Top 5 on the team, pretty much.
3. Odds get better as the players get worse.

in my experience it is tougher to RS better players - for inform of RS, I think that a player who is thrilled to hear from your team is lots more likely to be okay with it than is a guy who is a reach

once on your roster, I think where the player ranks on your roster affects willingness to RS - I dont know exactly how that process looks at the quality of the player - overall? by position? other?
