I'm extremely new to HD and I am in the middle of my first scouting season. What chance, if any, as a C- prestige school, do I have of signing a DII recruit? (He only has one preference and it is a "very good" In my favor)

First, welcome to the game! There are plenty of coaches willing to help you get up to speed.

Now to your question: You absolutely have a chance getting DII recruits. It's important to remember DII recruits won't sign with DIII teams until the second recruiting session, the one at the end of the season. If you ever go after DIII recruits, those can sign with you in the first recruiting session, the one mid-season.

And there are a lot of variables that contribute to whether a recruit will sign with you. But the short answer to your question is, yes. there's a chance.

You absolutely have a chance, and it is probably a very good one. Most human D2 coaches will focus exclusively on D1 talent, so the only D2 coaches you will likely have to worry about are Sims, which can typically be knocked off with a simple minutes promise of 10 minutes after you offer the scholarship. The only competition you would really need to watch out for are human D2 and D3 coaches if they show up.

Quick follow up question. What do I need to do in order to keep the recruit from blowing off a home visit or campus visit?
