I'm sure throughout the years, some of you have had bigs with high perimeter skills. I've got a PF now that's green 47 PER and still climbing. I know thats not elite possibilities yet. But here's to hoping that it happens eventually.

But with players such as these, have any of you compared how having a monster PER rating affects games when the player is a center, compared to a PF? (Or at least "playing" the center position compared to if he was playing PF)

I'm sure the offense set plays a big role in something like this. But I'm curious if there's a difference. As in, thinking that having a center that can knock down 3s may bring the defending center out of the paint in M2M creating many other outcomes with that possibility... Dish and an easy drive, back door oops, etc

Having a high Perimeter totally helps. If you have a high SPD rating it's even more betterer. It doesn't necessarily equate to more (or more successful) three point shooting but it does help.

I don't think it opens ups shots for other players (I think team Passing rating does that) but it certainly helps individual players score. I also have noticed, that it is easier to get PF's to shoot 3's than C's

I’ve had some really good shooting bigs in the past few years. Harvey was a 94/75 LP/PER and shot over 40% from 3. Felder was a 74 PER and shot 44% from 3. Both had 100 REB as well so they were legit bigs. Morgan was arguably my most productive player ever, being a 1st team AA. He was a 71/80 LP/PER. Bigs who can shoot are such an asset.

The higher the level, the more important PER becomes for Big's. At d3, a 90 ATH 90 LP guys dominates but at D1 that guys needs some SPEED/PER/BH to be an effective scorer.
