I know that if an ineligible player shows up for his first season and can't play he should be given a lot of study hall hours to become eligible. But shouldn't he also get some practice time. I have an ineligible guy with a high WE, and as I understand it players with high WE can improve over the summer break by working out on their own. Is it the same for the year a player sits out and can't practice with the team?

Ineligible players who sit out their first season can't attend team practices so putting any minutes into anything but study hall is a waste of practice minutes.

They will see gains/losses once their first season is over like everyone else on the roster but those gains are purely based on their WE.

Thanks. That clears that up.

I have seen a few ineligible players that would improve my team. I want to get 2 this recruiting cycle but would the system let me have more than one redshirt?

You are only permitted to redshirt one player on your team in any given season.

Ineligible is NOT the same as redshirting a player though.

Back in HD 2.0, it was near impossible to get more than 1 ineligible to show up to campus (if you attempted to recruit more than 1, it was highly likely only 1 would show up and the rest would go JUCO).

Now in HD 3.0, numerous teams have been able to successfully recruit multiple ineligibles and a good percentage are now showing up after recruiting (still might rely on recruiting effort with the quality of recruit in comparison to your prestige/division).
