Guess I didn't fully understand how fast a D1 could scoop up your target. The D1 team wasn't even on the considering screen and then poof, he was gone in one cycle! WTF!

I could see that happening.

1. The D1 team was Washington State. As long as he was on low, he would have never appeared on the considering screen (blame the alphabetical listing).

2. He puts in enough APs to unlock everything, but stay on low and then in one cycle offers schollie, multiple visits and some promises. He could easily get to very high with all of that. Add in the early signing pref and the fact that you cannot get above moderate at D3 in the first recruiting session and yep, your guy was very poachable.

I understand. I know about the alphabet thing but there were only 8 on the considering (thought it could go to 10). He only got to high but oh well. I guess my 6 VG and G preferences weren't enough.

6 VG? The guy only had 5 total preferences. And you only had 3 of them matching up (assuming you offered promises). 3 VGs and two neutrals.

Sorry, you're right. I did offer promises but it's my other target that had more preferences. Oh well, a dozen seasons in and still learning. Thought I was home free!

He must have had more than 10 guys on his considering list, with Washington State staying out of sight until they offered a scholarship. That's definitely something they need to fix.

Never ever home free on a pulldown until that recruit is officially signed with you.

Unless that guy's green in everything (and even then he's a project), I don't know what WSU is thinking.

If the ATH & DEF is green, I'd take him at SF.

He also matches his offense and defense which is a small positive

Here's my projection for him: Would've been a star for me :(

Yes, he'd be a fine d-3 player.

He'd be a good D2 player too. I personally wouldn't give him many minutes on any D1 team unless it's early in a rebuild. That being said, the "this player has no business in D1" commentary follows a similar thread that occurs on the forums - a lot of recommendations made based on player ratings are insinuating whoever is asking are building an immediate championship contender. A lot of times, people asking for these opinions are just trying to piece together a roster that can make the NT.
