Comparing the value of preferences Topic

I would like to take a team for the purpose of comparing the value of preferences, but there is a slight obstacle that throws it off. For instance, I was comparing two recruits, in a past experiment, both had the same preferences matched up, both received 10 APs, one had 8% and the other player had 10% of the total 100% of unlocking a scholarship. Of course, the reason between the disparity was talent. My question is what is the value of talent of a player when recruiting determined when it comes to unlocking a scholarship? Is it overall rank? positional rank? overall rating? or something else?

Probably a weighted combination of factors, I’ve assumed something similar to the big board. The formula was never disclosed.

I think one might be able to narrow it down, whether there is a percentage of it towards overall rating or positional rank if you recruited players with similar preferences. You might not get it exact, but fairly close. Once you have an idea, then you can start recruiting players with similar ratings and rank and then figure out the value of preferences by giving each player the same amount of APs.
