In my opinion, the lack of speed hurts you more on the offensive end than it does the defensive in a 3-2. I would also hesitate to use him in a 2-3, because the lack of rebounding and shotblocking are glaring defects, even more pronounced in a zone.
I have a guy who projects to be
very similar, and my plan is to use him as a 3 in a 3-2 as an upperclassman, if I don’t have a better option by then. His elite ath/defense will bolster the perimeter, and his lack of speed hurts less in zone than it would in man or straight press. But I also play triangle, which (IMO) requires less speed and ballhandling to score, so his still-green LP/per profile will usable from the 3. Not sure I would have taken him playing motion, personally. Probably wouldn’t be looking to feature him, anyway.
