Got a question about player rest.

I have a weak fielding LF with high durability and a 1B with lower durability.

I want to use the player rest / defensive replacement feature to move the LF to 1B and bring in a better fielder into LF.

I set up the hierarchy to have the guy starting in LF be the replacement for the 1B and the bench player replacing the LF. The first chance to make the switch, the game only replaced the LF.

Is there a way to do this?

In the 1B defensive hierarchy (ladder), is your starting LF above your starting 1B?

The defensive replacement sequence should be that the defensive LF comes in first. If there's nowhere else for the starting LF to go, then he's out of the game.

I just noticed that I didn't have 1B listed as one of the positions for the LF in his list of positions.. I don't know that is the issue but I changed it to include 1B.

The player rest hierarchy will only sub players from the bench. The only way to achieve what you want is to set the defensive replacement hierarchy the way that you want your player rest hierarchy to look.

The added position for the LF should take care of the availability for substitution. But just having the LF as the option won't help if he's not the first option. If the 1B is at the top of the ladder then the 1B stays in the game.

Re: what strikeout said, that's why the sequence is that the defensive LF comes in first. I use position switches on both my teams as part of the defensive hierarchies. The defensive LF has to be available to come in, then the LF is free to move to 1B.

Changing the Defensive Replacement settings did the trick. Thanks!
