Has anyone gotten this response before for IFA? It would unethical for my client to pretend that he could live up to the expectations that contract would place on him. If you think you can afford the money, try adjusting the length of the contract and/or the contract type. The contract I offered was rejected.

What did you offer?

I was up to 18M with a spring training invite. He rejected my offer and accepted less money with an invite. That doesn't make any sense.

I think we've all seen a Big League contract get rejected, but yeah, what you're describing doesn't sound like anything I've ever experienced.

I mean, I've seen IFAs signing for over 30 mil bonus. This one guy being the one who would say "oh no, I would never" seems like a goofy feature to put in a program.

Were you offering a ML contract? From the help: "A prospect will not accept a big league contract for more than 3 years unless specifically requesting it."
Sounds like a scenario that could result in the "not live up to those expectations" message.

No, that's not the message you get when you offer a BL contract. When you do, the reject message specifically refererences the fact that you offered a BL contract and makes you offer a minor league contract.

What you're experiencing has been documented in the past by other users, but nobody knows specifically what the triggers are, or why they exist in the first place.

I've had this happen to me once and seen it happen to someone else another time. Wildly bizarre.
