I'm considering picking up a third team, in D2.

My current D1 and D3 teams are both in Connecticut. Looking for something different, preferably Mid West or West.

Any suggestions for D2 schools that have some sort of inherent advantages for recruiting?

I had a team in IA and enjoyed recruiting the IA, WI, NE region. But the key there might have been there wasn’t a human coach at Iowa, Iowa St, or Nebraska.

Any D2 team you can find with little or no D1 humans nearby or in your state... gives you an advantage.

I think Northern Colorado was an advantage for me when I got here, 20+ seasons ago in Naismith. I didn't have much D2 human competition in CO (or nearby states), and in D1, Univ of Colorado was always going to be going after much higher-level talent, so our paths never crossed. I think that's the key to look for - a combo of reasonable D1 talent within 300-500 miles, plus D1 schools that are going to consistently aim higher than you.

Now, I've got 3 other A or A+ D2 schools in CO, and I'm fading on the recruiting trail. Oh well, things change.
