interesting. LHB for a LHB mid at bat. I've never noticed the SIM pinch hitting for a hitter during an at bat before, but have to disclose I don't always read the box scores thoroughly enough to notice everything.

I am assuming that whatever PH logic they use gets applied again if the AB is restarted due to a dropped fly ball. Maybe also a stolen base/caught stealing.

Programmatically I can understand why it would happen. But what I can't understand is what variable might have changed. I wouldn't think there was logic to take the count into consideration. But maybe there is? Or maybe pitcher fatigue?
