California's poverty rate is 23.8% when adjusted for cost of living. Think about that. That's almost 1/4 of the people despite having more economic potential than any other state in the country. It has a beautiful coast, many tourism attractions, Silicon Valley, Hollywood.

And more to what you were saying, Tang. Look at many large cities. They have been ran by democrats for many years and are in terrible shape.

So yes. I would say "my" policies do work better.
Yeah, you are wrong. Kansas is in a **** ton of debt and we have terrible infersstructure and education.
I am a huge deficit hawk and believe that all debt is bad, so yes Kansas has too much debt. Relative to the rest of the country, they are middle of the pack and about average as far as debt goes. As far as infrastructure, you live in the state so I will take your word that it needs heavy upgrading.

But from a poverty standpoint, Kansas is doing pretty well. This is what I meant by conservative policies do seem to work better.
Yeah but we aren't. Trust me if Kobach is elected that number is rising.
I can't speak for the future, but currently the numbers look good for your state.
The tax cuts were a disaster so we can't pay for anything anymore. Once this current group of kids graduates the poverty rate is going up.
What do you feel the government is obligated to pay for?
Roads and schools to name two. Kansas is struggling to pay for both.
Federal or State Govt?

That can't even afford schooling minimums that are required by their state constitution.

Yep. That's why there is no excuse for so many people to be struggling. 1/4 in poverty in a state with that much to offer. Unreal.
