Newbie Questions Topic

This thread will be for my Newbie Questions.

The FAQ says I can rescind scholarships after job change, but prior to signing by going to the Coaches menu. I am in Knight DIII, I have several seasons purchased and I have renewed for the next season.

There is no option to rescind scholarship that I can see. My team's season has started and I am in the second game of Non-Conf play.

Any help would be appreciated.

After the job change period of your current season, you can go under the “manage roster” tab and rescind scholarships.

Yep, that is what the FAQ says. It appears we are past the job change period in Knight (actually in the non-conf schedules right now), so I was thinking I was missing something. In GridIron we had a calendar on the home screen that set forth the periods. How can I check if the job change period has ended?

P.S. Thanks for the help.

So, found this in the guide. This implies I cannot rescind until my second season. Complex and fun little game here. I am sure this is going to take a while to figure out for me.

You can't rescind any players in your first season at a school unless you are changing jobs (which occurs before the recruiting session #2).
As a new coach joining into a world, you have to wait until you've finished your first season (you can view the World Schedule under the Schedule and it will indicate that rescinding starts 6 hours prior to RS2 and ends 1 minute prior to the end of RS2 while new coach sign ups occur after the season has rolled over).

Top notch. Thanks for the response. That makes sense in light of where I am in the season at this point.

More basic questions to follow.

Find a good D3 coach that is willing to discuss things with you. And sitemail the hell out of him! You'll have a gazillion questions. Welcome to the game

Working on finding the active DIII coach FYI. THanks for the suggestion.

For recruiting, should I be targeting Div 1 players and hoping they drop during the last 24 hours? It seems that is what several coaches are doing at DIII...or am I just reading that wrong?

Thanks in advance.

In short, yes. There are also gems to be had recruiting D2 players as well. You need to find a a balance, especially at D3 where many of your D1 targets will likely get poached before you are able to sign them.

I would typically avoid D3 players. Not to say there aren’t any usable D3 players, the grand majority of them suck.

Thanks Wales. DIII recruiting DII does not have to wait until last 24 hours correct? Any restrictions (e.g. can only sign in second signing period) I should be aware of to recruit a DII?

Thanks!

That’s correct. You can sign D2 guys at the beginning of the second session. You don’t have to wait until the final 24 hours like you do for D1 players.
