Speed in the scoring equation (post players) Topic

Recently, I have noticed that my post players with high speed (50+ at D3) FG% is higher than i would expect.

Like this guy in triangle.

And this guy in fastbreak.

I used to think that FG% for ath/lp players was 80-90% those to attributes but i am now thinking that SPD/BH/PER play a higher role in all shot attempts.

I have thought this for a very long time. Everybody talks about ignoring speed in bigs because it doesn't affect rebounding. And it doesn't play a big role in defense. All true.

But my post scorers are much more effective when they're fast. Don't tell everybody, though. I find that fast posts with solid ball handling tend to be a massive bargain in recruiting.

Yep, check out this guy who I recruited when I was at UNLV. Had zero competition for him and he is a scoring machine for them...

While probably not the ideal big man, he was probably overlooked because of his low ATH but whatever, I felt his speed and everything else more than made up for it

Do you really consider 10.8 ppg and a 49% fg pct a 'scoring machine?'

I cheated and played this guy some at the 3 spot last season, but he is a true stretch four

Especially for post players who spread the floor, I am confident that SPD helps.

Well, considering its a sim using him.....I guess not in that context, but a human coach would certainly get him to score more

This season I may be using a guy with 100 Ath 90 Spd 76 BH 62 Reb 88 Pass at the 4/PF position. But only has 100 in combined PE/LP. Should be interesting.

At d1,i dont think he'll be very good. At D2, I think he will score.
