conference to join. I'll have to play one season of D3 because it will be a new world to me. But I don't care about that at all. Will be a one and done situation.

Has to be in Iba, Allen, or Rupp. As I currently have D2 teams in the other four 1x worlds. I don't like playing in 2x worlds. I don't want a full conference. But I don't want an empty conference either. 3-8 coaches would be ideal I guess.

Any recommendations (and why) would be great! Maybe even throw a few of the coaches names out there. Active conference chat is a plus.

I am doing that approach in Iba Rocky Mountain (Mesa State). Doing pretty well though I did start with some great talent.

California Collegiate in Allen. Defending natty champ cjwolf could repeat this season. Top D2 rpi. Projected to have a 1 seed, two 2 seeds, and a 4 seed in this year’s tourney.

I like both of these options. Anybody from Rupp want to chime in? (Or more Iba and Allen locations).

i've always played on East Coast so the move west is intriguing. I tried a Florida team once and I didn't like it because outside of the state, distance becomes a big factor. I'm used to NY and PA area where there's dozens of recruits in a 360 degree radius. So because of my experience in Florida that didn't suit me personally, the CAA scares me just a little bit.

California recruiting isn’t bad in Allen. A ton of local talent. Talent in HI, OR, WA. I’ve had some success recruiting other western states and internationally.

It’s competitive, yes. But I don’t think it’s any more competitive than the crowded East coast.

GLV In Rupp is a competive conference. We have four openings and you would make a great addition Top!

California might be alright. But like Florida for example, I had a team there for 2 seasons. And everyone talks about Florida being a hotbed for recruits. But personally I didn't like it. If you don't like the Florida guys, there's no states to the east, west, or south of you. So everything is far away. California may be a lil better for me. Because they just don't have anything to the west.

Keep in mind everyone has different styles and patterns and all that. For me, my teams have always been in NY, PA, SC. So there's close recruits in a 360 degree radius either direction (except SC). The closer the cheaper. When I was at Florida, even looking in Georgia can be 500 miles and further. And that's the closest state. Personally my style would fit better in the midwest or Colorado areas where there's recruits in every direction. Right or wrong, it's what i've been successful doing.

Ok maybe it's just distance. More so than geographic positioning. I just know in Florida, scouting the next state was 500+ miles. Where in NY and PA areas I don't have to go that far for a wide selection of recruits.

I just know that I didn't like it personally, when I was recruiting there.

The Peach Belt in Iba is a good place to check out if you're up for a challenge (and a rebuild).

Looks like I'll be joining Rupp. Not sure where I'll go get after my D3 season. But thanks for the input. Looks like the GNW may be the likely destination. But we'll see when that time comes. Me, myself, and I will now pop the champagne and celebrate the future
