Did anyone ever do a study to see if promising a starting spot affects a player on the Big Board on the same team and position?

For example Team A has a Sophmore SG on the Big Board listed as On the Fence. If Team A offers a stud freshman SG a starting spot in recruiting is the Sophomore SG more likely to become Likely Going or does it have absolutely no effect on the player.

I know this has been talked about but didn't recall any data on it.

I honestly don't think so, but could be wrong. I will sometimes compare 2 of the same position players, in the same class and using the core ratings, it appears that's what it's based on.
