OT -- Bing Ball comes to life (again!) Topic

It's a bit pedestrian compared to the 138-point night he dropped last season, but this kid from Grinnell went off and topped the century mark last night. Don't give me the old "they play teh game different" line...100+ points is STILL 100+ points and darn impressive.

Averaging a "mere" 90 points per outing so far this season after 2 games. Crazy stuff.

35/70 overall shooting, and 24/48 from 3. I wasn't too impressed with his 138 last season because it came on an unfathomable 108 shot attempts, but you can't hate on this stat line. Damn impressive.

anyone that is hitting 50% from three has my permission to jack up as many as possible...

Agreed. I'm more impressed with this outing than his last.

So, what is the most someone has had in a sim game here for one player? In a winning effort.

Most good shooters in college can shoot 50% when they are wide open like that. Especially when that's all they practice. Watching the game he was just basically in a shoot around. Not taking anything away from the kid and its gonna be an awesome story to tell later, but I don't think its national news worthy.

I heard he had 53 pts in the first 9 minutes of the 2H.  Yikes.

On some of the shots I saw on highlights, it's not like he was playing in an empty gym.  There were some hands up at him as he shot.  Not saying it was always like that, but this was just the highlights I saw.

In my first or second season in HD, over in D3 Crum (like Season 21) trink had a guy (Edit:  just looked it up, it was Bruce Hatton, still 9th on all-time for Hunter in scoring) score like 89 or something for his Hunter team in an amazingly efficient manner.  The next night he had his other guard score like 75.  He had 2 AA-kind of guards.  The engine has some better checks in place to make it not so easy to allow that to happen these days.

This link should be read by everyone commenting on this thread.

"The announcer actually said that Grinnell will look on their schedule for their weaker opponents and do everything they can to run up the score and break records. This is all within the game plan. One tactic the announcer mentioned was called "The Bomb Squad". If Grinnell's opponent gets into the double bonus, Grinnell will sub in five freshmen players, foul their opponent immediately once the ball is in play, send them to the line, then sub the freshmen players out to put their scorers back in on offense. This takes almost no time off the clock, giving their starters as many offensive possessions as possible."
