First Cycle Attention Points Topic

Is there any advantage to putting 1 AP on a bunch of players first cycle besides just the little bonus and unlock that AP does. Do you need AP on a player to see his considering list or anything like that?

It gives you considering credit.

I will usually put 1 on anyone I'm targeting, but never more than 10 players.

A lot of coaches will put 1 AP on tons of players. It can help you be sneaky. For instance.....

if a day or two goes by, and you show up on a recruit, who ever is leading on that player will be fully aware of you. And expects that you will pursue that recruit. But if you put 1 AP on the player the first cycle, your name makes the list.

As recruiting continues, maybe a coach takes the lead, and relaxes, thinking no one is coming for his player. But there you are in the background, loading up AP the whole time, having everything unlocked. Then when signing cycle comes along, you drop the bomb on him! Promises, then 15+ visits, and you likely can steal the recruit. Because maybe he put 0 visits in. Thinking it was an easy sign. Or 5 or less visits.

I think the downfall to this strategy is if other coaches know you have a history of doing this, it tends to be less effective. For instance, if a coach knows you're putting 1 AP on about 20 players, that coach knows that he's not going after all 20 players.

Well of course not. But the problem is, you have no way see which players he IS targeting in the background.

plus that's not always the goal in using 1 AP. It doesn't really "hurt" you in any way. Because it's only one cycles worth of AP. It can intimidate also, and make a coach change directions.... if multiple coaches put 1 AP on a player, I may stay away, at first. Because i see lots of coaches are interested in the player. And i may not want to battle.

There's some strategy with it. But not a strategy that's so powerful that it changes the course of recruiting throughout. It's just an added little mind game.
