“And I don’t think fixing the considering list would actually provide a remedy for your problem.”

Thats exactly right. The considering list design is dumb all the way around, but this is why it really isn’t worth the effort to “fix”, if a fix just means being able to see all the teams on the list. The issue you’re really having here is that someone is exploiting a predictable gameplay strategy - get out in the lead, move on to others if it looks like you’re safe. That can and will still happen, even if you see the human lurking at very low, if your gameplay remains predictable.

The better (but more complicated, and surely more controversial) fix is to rework the considering list to obscure most of the information regarding other teams, at least until he’s done campus visits. If it was my game, a recruit’s considering list would show me where my team stood (very low to very high), then it would show numbers of D1 teams pursuing, number of D2 teams, how many teams have offered scholarships, and then when a recruit visits a school, only then would a specific team be visible to other teams.

"is it strictly strategic for you? Or do you find joy in ripping my heart out season after season? Haha. I am really curious about that! "

Both! Muahahah

"But I like what one coach said on here.... once the list of schools gets past 10, just "expect" there to be humans below. That way you're prepared for what comes after."

I don't really like this type of thinking. I want to use the information that is given and make and educated guess about what to do. This isn't an educated guess- its juet a flat out shot in the dark guess. Of course you will never know everything but in this case, there is no reason not to have this info shown.
I agree. But when I say that expect coaches to be lurking below every single time. What I mean is..... when you get a player ripped away from you in that manner, just be aware that it happens. And have a backup at least unlocked. Even if that's all you have accomplished with that back up. And don't let it ruin you class if you can avoid it.

if a player is taken from you swiftly and unexpectedly, it's irrelevant whether you can see it or not. It's gonna happen.

It was mentioned during Beta but for some reason it was never implemented..

But the considering list should show more accurately how much effort has been put in. A team with 1 AP is shown as the same as a team with hundreds of APs and has unlocked all actions. This doesn't make sense from a game standpoint or a realism standpoint. You literally get emails saying - 'hey coach, I like what you're saying, i'm ready to go on a Campus visit now!". You'd think he would be A LITTLE more interested in this school over the one that sent a pamphlet to his house.

This type of system would make it much harder for teams to lurk off the list or as VL on the list. You'd at least SEE the other recruit is getting attention from other schools.

But what do I know.

What frustrates me the most is the site not showing the full list of teams. I work in coding. It's such an easy fix and yet they neglect everyone who asks for it. How are you supposed to prepare when a team goes from not on the list to having signed the recruit all in one cycle...
Apply for the .NET Developer job and fix it yourself then. I agree that it’s probably an easy fix, but there’s also the fact that there is one developer for this whole dang site. “Fixing the considering list” is probably backlog item #2500.

And I don’t think fixing the considering list would actually provide a remedy for your problem. If D1 human wanted to be crafty, he could have been slowly applying AP while sitting at inconspicuously at VL until he decides to offer the scholly and tons of HV so he jumps to VH in one cycle and you still woulda been ******.
If you mean poaching, then I agree. There isn't an easy fix without restructuring the whole thing like Benis and Shoe provide. In this instance, I had over 1,000ap, maxed visits/guarantees. It's the only reason I still held a 76 to 24 advantage against a B prestige D1 program. I'd take those odds any day against that competition even if it didn't work out for me this time. So I wasn't stopping it from happening. However, I could have been more active with backup solutions two or three cycles earlier if I knew he had jumped on the recruit at very low. I'd have seen he was losing a battle and probably moving on to his backup option. I could have done the same. I think that's how recruiting is designed with how things need to be unlocked, etc. But since there is a limit on the list, I never got that information until the recruit signed.

Now I know the solution is to assume someone is always lurking and to always have backups in place. As a new coach, allocating ap to backups that aren't easily stolen from sim-ai's jumping recruits, while also remaining competitive in battles is something I still need to improve on. Moving forward, that's what I'll do.

I get that its only Seble running the show. That sucks and I wish he was given more resources. Hopefully the job opening is a move in the right direction. But this isn't a free game, at least for me. I understand for some of you elite coaches it is. I pay a decent amount to play the game and with that I feel like I can be critical of bugs that give advantages to schools simply based on the alphabet.

Anyway, if I took the job I wouldn't have time to improve on the recruiting tool plugin!

How hard would it be to program the system automatically put you at Low if you've unlocked Home Visits?

Having to do the majority of recruiting in the D1 pool as a coach in D2 or D3 has destroyed the enjoyment of playing in lower divisions for me. It's not enjoyable for me so I have cut back from 3 teams to 1. It really sucks having a player in your sights and locked down until the last couple cycles a human coach takes that player in 1-2 cycles and there is no way to eliminate that risk besides recruiting in your own division pool and having to settle for lower quality players. You are a paying customer but there will be no updates anytime soon regardless. So your two choice are to either quit or live with it.

oh yah i love the recruiting tool plugin by the way!!

Those tiers seem percentage based, Benis, so it would make more sense to just not show teams at all that haven't unlocked home visits. If very low sims don't typically reach that threshold, then it could work.
