I'm assuming someone has noticed this before, but it appears the sim has mixed up the two Brian Hunters who played simultaneously in the late 1990s. One was a very fast CF from 1995-2003 who led the league in steals in 97 with Detroit. The other was a 1B/corner OF who was on 3 Braves playoff teams and played from 1991-2000.

When searching seasons for the Braves' Hunter, I noticed some of his have excellent speed and OF defense ratings. Check out his 1998 Cardinals season, with 93 speed and A+ OF range. Those are the identical ratings the Tigers' Hunter has for that season. Clearly a mistake. And they link to different player cards, so it's just a ratings error. The Braves' Hunter has no ratings at 1B in 1999, where he played 101 games. He has the other guy's OF and speed ratings.

Maybe this is an isolated incident, or maybe other ratings are wrong somewhere. Anyone know if this is fixable?

SIM has a few missing seasons. Usually don’t come across them unless you’re doing roster twist leagues. Can’t think of any off the top of my head, but I’ve seen it once or twice.

Sometimes you'll see little random things like this. For example, 2004 Joe Mauer is rated a D arm with 0.24 CS %, but that year he threw out 7/18 for 39% which would be an A+ arm in the SIM. I sent that in a ticket many many years ago and was told it was added to the list for the next update. The next update still hasn't come.

Quick one while I’m thinkig about it. 1945 Ben Chapman, 51 ABs with the Phils. He played 10 games in the OF, 4 games at 3rd, and 3 games at Pitcher. And WIS has him as a pitcher.

Not sure how you'd even discover that one, ha, but you are right. In 1945 Ben Chapman appeared in 37 games as a position player and 13 as a pitcher. His time with the Phillies as a batter would qualify for a partial season with a .314 AVG. A solid PH season that would probably come cheap. The WIS policy with pitcher/hitter hybrids is to use them at the position where they appeared in the most games that season. '45 Ben Chapman should be a hitter, not a pitcher.

I was researching for dcmathcheck’s “Just Win, Baby,” league. Was scouting the rosters to use up the last of my 300k for maybe a solid bench guy

I discovered this trying to find the twist options for the 99 Braves for the Moonlight Graham League. Out of principle, I won't use the falsely rated speedy Hunter as a backup OF, though. The dude was slow and stubby.

I think they did fix the '65 Campaneris though...for a long time he had an A+ arm at catcher...and I think it is now (appropriately) D-.

Funny how they have the 98 and 99 seasons mixed up, but all the other years were perfectly fine

I think they did fix the '65 Campaneris though...for a long time he had an A+ arm at catcher...and I think it is now (appropriately) D-.

Another one like that is '75 Len Randle. He had 1 game at catcher and allowed 3 SB in 4 tries. He's got an A+ arm here.

Even odder is that some of the fast guy's seasons are under "Brian L. Hunter" as if to differentiate him. Except, only 2 of his seasons, and both after the other guy was out of the majors.
