Recruit ATH, Speed and stamina. Everything else is cream cheese.

Another question, whats the difference between uptempo and just normal tempo? Isnt normal tempo already kind of fast paced?
More shots. More Fatigue.

I don't know for sure but I think FB at normal has more shots than the other offenses but it's not a ton more.
Possessions yes. Shots no.
Unless FB somehow causes more offensive turnovers, aren't they one and the same?
Well yeah FB does cause more offensive turnovers. It literally says that in the Hoops 101 guide.

Additionally, you're more likely to get fouled in FB. Therefore if your possession is ending with FTs then you're not get shots off.

FB has the fewer shots but higher possession ratio of all 4 offenses for these two reasons.

For PG you need SP in the 90's and Ath preferably in the 90's. PG foul the most in FB and if you have a slow/non-Ath PG he will foul out quick against a faster opp. PG. Also LP in guards will help to finish around basket and high FT will help not to leave points on the floor. You're #1 goal in FB is too get to the line and win the FT battle and cause more TO's than you commit. My 2 cents

Benis and Long_ge have helped me with that.

Good stuff, thanks guys...definitely helps, though getting PGs in the 90s for both ATH and SPD is almost like finding a unicorn....and even when you do fighting off other schools is a task.

Last question, what about distribution? Looking at my Nova team for instance, I have my top scores in the 18-20 range, my next tier in the 12-15 range, and then the rest in the 3-10 range.

Is that going about it the right way in FB, or could I imbalance it even more? Or should I balance it more?

I have my 1-3 best scorers in the 20-25% distro normally.

My notes, in order of importance:
1) Ath, Spd, and BH are most important, but it’s good to have rebounding and perimeter options. Especially above D3, better defenses are hard to exploit by the foul/fatigue strategy on its own.
2) You want 80+ stamina. Probably avoid recruiting guys who don’t project to 75+, unless you can make up for it with other players.
3) Depth is more important than other sets. Not recommended to try to risk ineligibles, or take on walkons.

Thanks, #2 and 3 is kind of what I employ for the Press with my Oregon team....so its kind of similar in that regard. Good stuff, thanks.

I don't have a press team, but I watched closely when Arfy was dominating my conference. The only other thing I would add is Rebounding in bigs seems to be an often overlooked part of the FB/Press. If you allow offensive rebounds you're not allowing your guards to get out and run on the break.
