I've never recruited in D3 in 3.0. The last time I played you were able to pull down D2 players to D3. Looking over my roster I see that the previous coach had signed players that were nationally ranked coming out of HS. Is it possible to sign D1 players to a D3 team? At what point in recruiting would they start accepting your effort? If someone could sitemail me to answer some questions I'd appreciate it. Scouting opens at 6 PM tonight for me.

Sent you a sitemail. The big piece of advice I’ll make public here is 1) don’t rush to scout, and 2) look for multiple mentors. My advice and processes may not suit you, and that’s true about anyone offering help. The most important part is finding a process that is fun to you, whatever level of success you aspire to.

I am assuming you are used to 2.0 recruiting where who you could get was dictated by the game. In 3.0 who you can get is based upon who you can beat in a battle. D3 teams can technically sign a #1 overall recruit, but they don't stand a chance in a battle. You can sign any player that you can win a battle for. They will accept your effort from the first cycle, but they will not sign to you until the last day of recruiting for D1, and not until the second session for D2.

There are lots of threads about 3.0 recruiting, I don't have any pinned, but I bet somebody else does. You could probably find one fairly easily as well.
