I personally love the rule because it inhibits tanking. A team can't horde prospects with a $20M team payroll for 4-5-6 seasons and then suddenly jump into "win mode".

Before a war gets started, this is not a shot at anyone particular. I just wanted to post this in case Seble ever reads the suggestion. The comment about every customer hating it is misleading.

Ok, I get that. I’m wrong about every customer hating it, but let’s be real, Seble isn’t gonna actually read this.

I agree with Strikeout in that it prevents teams from tanking and then suddenly going all in. But to sportbulls point, I’d be ok with allowing a new owner a little more wiggle room. Maybe allow new owners the option to put Atleast 14/16 in any category (and allow them to go as low as 6/4). That way no they can Atleast good a good start on where they want to head, no matter what the previous owner did.

You should be able to set your budgets to whatever you choose. Anytime you join a new league and draft high and previous owner didn't have enough money in scouting. You set the franchise back one full year.

I'm okay with the idea of more flexibility in your initial season with the team, but I don't like the idea of removing the restrictions past season one.

I like the rule. However, would prefer to be able to move 5 million a year as somebody previously suggested. When you have to start at 10 HS scouting, then it moves down to 6 at the start of year two, then three seasons in and you are still at 2, it really affects the players you see in the draft. If I have 20 million in College and 2 million in HS, I am not going to draft HS players, but since I have 2 million in HS scouting, I still see many HS players in my draft prospect pool. Whereas if I had 20 million in college and 0 in HS. I would see a lot less HS players in my draft prospect pool. This is a huge difference in the type of talent that I can add to my team.

Haha, yeah I agree. That $2M is annoying. It's useless in a scouting budget, but could be used to sign a late FA.

I am ok with restrictions in year 2. But would like to see a movement of 6 instead of 4. 4 is counter productive to adjusting to yours teams win./loss trends from season to season.

Why not allow the transfer of money to draft budgets at a penalty, like other areas? If I can transfer to prospect, to get around the cap, why can't I transfer more money to scouting?

You should be able to move money all the way down to $10. Its ridiculous that we have wasted money every year because you could fall one dollar short of moving it.

If we are able to move by 6 instead of 4 then a team new to the league can at least have their scouting up to 16 which is way better than 14 for drafting. But I still would like to see anyone new to a league to be able to start out with whatever budget they choose in the first year in the league. Then be able to move by 6 from then on.
