Jimmychino is the closest. 50-50.

A lot of interesting stuff going on in this battle. I (Oregon) had targeted this local player, with a late signing preference, planning to use the resources I would get from an expected late entry to beat back Louisville and a bunch of sims with RS2 effort. I didn’t have enough left to go all in on visits, but I figured it would be enough.

I didn’t expect another human to come in late, St Louis with a new coach and a full set of resources. He was too late for a CV, but was able to come in hard enough with late APs to unlock everything. He was also willing to promise full minutes and start, which I didn’t want to do, with a team I expect to contend this year, and already having 2 starts promised.

Odd, I would have thought you would have been ahead by a decent amount. Interesting

I'm still very confused. I have it (based on an arbitrary system) ~100-53 in favor of team A, which I take it is you. And that's before stretching. I know some of my weightings are sub-optimal, but I'm typically not off by a whole lot. Is it possible something is missing here? I guess if you're a very borderline A-, almost B+, and they are a very borderline C-, almost C, it would explain a little bit. But still not enough.

Did any preferences change between recruiting sessions for you?

I don’t know of any preference changes. The only thing that might have changed is conference strength, but I doubt it. Our prestige was a mid to high A-; we went up to A after the draft with the #3 overall.

How much do you account for the difference between 15 and 25 minutes?

I am mildly surprised (I would have had us up about 55-45, I think); one wild thought is that perhaps AP/cycle has some weight. I don’t *think* it does, and I’ve never suspected it does, but I don’t remember it ever being addressed in beta. As a new coach to a team, my opponent put in close to 70/cycle, compared to my ~15 (and I wasn’t on him the whole time either, so it’s not the full number of cycles up through signing for me either).

Less than 1 HV worth of difference between 15 and 25 minutes. What I don't know is whether they invisibly alter the modifier for the playing time preference. I have always assumed no, but that could be wrong.

For players who want to play, minutes definitely alter the value of attention. For those players, the difference between 15 and 25 is quite large, especially if teams are investing a lot of points.

For players who don’t have that preference, a home visit is probably pretty close, as a stand alone factor.
