Vanity projects that help destroy democracy are disgusting. If he enters the race, I will start a Starbucks boycott because I’m not giving a penny that will end up in the election coffers of a guy who will help Trump win.

-Neera Tanden

This might be the dumbest tweet I have ever read and that's saying a lot as I have seen a bunch of Trump's tweets. More choices do not destroy democracy. Somebody in her position should understand that.

you are being too literal.....she is saying that trump as president is hurting democracy in our country ...tens of millions agree.......his vanity project will help trump she is saying...tens of millions agree.
dont be so literal....you know what she meant.

Strikeout is right, in a way, that more options are good. The issue, and I can relate with democrats on this, is that Schultz will steal votes from the Democratic candidate predominantly. It's the same way I felt about Greg Orman in Kansas in the midterms. I love more options, the issue is that democrats and moderates needed to stand united against the far- right Kobach.

Or imagine if Kasich ran against Trump in 2020 and ran a formidable campaign... that would probably **** a ton of conservatives off.

tldr, I understand the frustration on both sides of the argument.

You have every right to boycott Starbucks. It's one of the things that makes this country great. I do, however; find it ironic on two fronts though. For one, the left is boycotting the furthest left company in America. Two, the boycott will have little affect on him as he is no longer CEO there.

As far as her statement goes, it shows a grave lack of intelligence. Her tweet was at best very poorly worded and at worst highly incorrect. Options promote democracy.

Edit: I read through many of her other tweets and it is now not surprising that posted what she did. Apparently, she posts a lot of stupid stuff.

I really hope some conservatives primary Trump. While I do not see him as a danger to our democracy, the guy is a scumbag.

Here's the thing Dino, if the Democrats would run a good candidate it doesn't matter if there is a 3rd party candidate or not. When you run HRC as your nominee, you should expect to lose. I thought Obama did a lot very poorly, but he was a good candidate. He energized people. He was articulate. He was likable. Hillary screeched her way through the process with nothing of substance to say. "Vote for me because i'm a woman." Most rational people would agree that is a terrible reason to vote for someone. I think Bernie is a blithering idiot, but people rally around his ideas because he speaks directly to the average person. Hillary speaks like people should listen to her because she is better than them.

And BL always says that if Bernie was the better candidate he would have won the primary. Here's where that argument falls short. Both Trump and Clinton won because they invite/incite drama. People love drama. That excitement loses its flare over time. The excitement behind Bernie would have carried into the general election.

Third party candidate was directly responsible for the Iraq War and all the costs associated.

Why drink $6 coffee, when you have a keg on tap in your office, right?

Ralph Nader? He didn't sway the election 35 electoral votes.

True that....even though I hated them, I'll never forgive Shultz for what he did to the Sonics and their fans.

The kegerator in the office is a blessing and a curse....it's awesome but I have people in and out of my office all day long. LOL

i agree to the nth degree...and schultz is a self proclaimed lifelong democrat...not a russian lackey like jill stein or a spiteful moron like nadir.

I almost ****** my pants laughing the first time I read something blaming Jill Stein for Hillary's loss. Reasons Clinton lost according to the left:

Russia, FaceBook, James Comey, The DNC, Jill Stein, Sexism, A Democratic predecessor, Bernie, Wikileaks, the debate questions, journalists, campaign funding, low-information voters, women under pressure from men

The problem is very few people actually blame Hillary.
