Player ratings increase Topic

I have noticed some teams have players with 50 or 60+ ratings increases as juniors or seniors, I've never had a JR OR SR with ratings increases such as this. Am i doing something wrong here?

usually you get the highest increases in PE and LP, not so much in speed and athleticism when you recruit guys with ratings in green.

Luck of the draw, and also playing time/Work Ethic. You sometimes get a green category that shoots from 13 to 100, sometimes it's a green category that goes from 13 to 34. No way to tell until you see colors change. If the Jr. didn't get a lot of time the first two years there might also be a lot of room for gain due to prior small gain years, or larger gains later in their career due to increasing work ethics due to PT/starts.

Yep, combo of high-veryhigh scoring potential, ramped up PT later in the career, and a modest starting work ethic. David Ellis is a good example of this. Low green starting ratings in the scoring attributes. After a redshirt season and a couple seasons off the bench, he’s become a good scoring option. Of course, it’s complete luck on my part, he could just as easily ended up with 80 defense, and 50/50 LP/PER, and been a deep bench player his whole career.

Dale Ellis is a great example. Thank you. I just didnt know if I was doing something wrong or missing something in recruiting.

I have a D2 version of David Ellis. Backup to my backup recruit that year, Jim Simpson. I got extremely lucky and his scoring went from 14, 19 to 85, 93. My only regret was not red-shirting cause he still has points to gain in both.

Jake, were you referencing Dale Ellis...after he became a Seattle Supersonic? Because, I find it hard to believe that he would’ve accepted a redshirt, at Tennessee. At any rate, he sure could shoot it as a Sonic!
