I'm interested in some takes on Preseason All-Americans. I have never paid enough attention to get a good perspective on the process. It was always my impression that they were largely based on the previous season's performance. In general, when I've seen people complain on the forums that their guy didn't get a nod, it's because he's all promise and no results. Great ratings, but he only played 9 MPG last season, so he's not on the list.
So for some reason I decided to open it up this season, and I can't help noticing that my guy
Tom Borders isn't on the list. This is a guy who was a First-Team All-American last season. Unfortunately I can't go back and look at who the other First Team AA's were. I don't think I knew Borders was First Team until I opened up his player page to check after being surprised he wasn't a preseason AA.
But if Borders isn't a Preseason All-American, and guys with great ratings but limited sample sizes in past performance aren't Preseason All-Americans, how do they pick the Preseason All-Americans?
