It's been awhile since I've dealt with one, but does a low WE (under 10) guy get a boost in WE if i promise starts and actually start him?

Got a recruit that's got decent enough core to play him, but he actually has potential for growth too.

Yes. His WE will grow way faster if you start him than any other thing you can do.

That said, starting below 10 it will still grow super-slowly... Traver has started every game til halfway through his JR season...

Correct me if I am wrong but I think OP is asking if there will be a bigger WE boost if he promises the recruit starts compared to not promising the recruit a start.

Yep. That is how I read it.

This being said, I promised a recruit starts and PT. He had a 1 WE. after 21 games, I quit starting him because his WE was still *gasp* 1. I figured there was no real downside because his 1 WE would drop to what? Zero? And if he transferred, is it really THAT big of a deal?

Thanks guys. Ermackey experience is basically what I'm looking at. I still might recruit this guy because he has decent enough cores to contribute, but was trying to determine if there would be any boost just from promising and keeping the promise of starts. Something more than just the fact he's starting. If not for the slow growth he could be a stud.

How would a 14 WE progress if I started him every season? Has very solid cores (with a few blues/greens in them).

I could be off on this as it's been awhile since I've had one like that. TJ could probably better answer that question. I think he'd get high 20's probably in WE before it's all done.
